Domestic Customer Terms – Including UniFi System Installations

Defender Property Maintenance is a trading name of Defender Network Solutions Ltd (Company No. 16422145, registered in England & Wales.

These Terms apply to all domestic customers booking handyman, property maintenance, or UniFi system installations with us.

1. Booking & Hours

  • Bookings are made by phone/email and confirmed in writing.

  • Standard hours: Mon–Sat, 8am–6pm.

  • Minimum charge: one hour per visit (handyman/maintenance).

  • UniFi system installations are quoted as fixed-price projects.

2. Rates (Domestic Handyman & Maintenance)

  • Handyman: £60 first hour, then £12.50 per ¼ hr.

  • Plumbing: £98 first hour, then £24.50 per ¼ hr.

  • Electrical: £70 first hour, then £17.50 per ¼ hr.

  • No VAT charged.

3. UniFi Systems – Supply & Installation

  • UniFi equipment (WiFi, CCTV, VOIP, door access) is supplied and installed on a fixed-price basis as quoted.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is payable at order. Balance due on completion.

  • Equipment remains our property until paid in full.

  • Customer-supplied equipment is installed at customer’s risk (no warranty).

4. System Handover & Support (UniFi)

  • On completion, we provide admin credentials, basic training, and demonstration.

  • Our installation warranty covers 30 days for defects.

  • Ongoing support, reconfiguration, or remote monitoring is not included unless under a Service Agreement.

  • Customer is responsible for GDPR/data compliance where systems record or store personal data.

5. Materials (General)

  • Materials we supply are charged separately and remain our property until paid in full.

6. Payment

  • Handyman jobs: payment due on completion.

  • UniFi installations: deposit + balance on completion (or agreed payment plan).

7. Cancellations & Access

  • Less than 24hrs’ notice/no access = one-hour minimum charge (handyman) or loss of deposit (UniFi install).

8. Guarantee

  • Handyman/maintenance work: 30-day workmanship guarantee.

  • UniFi equipment: covered by manufacturer’s warranty (12–36 months).

9. Exclusions

  • No liability for power/internet outages, pre-existing faults, or consequential losses.

  • We do not undertake gas/asbestos/high-risk works.

10. Insurance

  • Public liability insurance: [£1 million].

11. Governing Law

  • Laws of England & Wales.

  • Minimum charge: one hour per operative (handyman/maintenance).

  • UniFi system installations are quoted as fixed-price projects.

  • Out-of-hours work available at agreed rates.

2. Rates (Commercial Handyman & Maintenance)

  • Handyman: £60 first hour, then £12.50 per ¼ hr.

  • Plumbing: £98 first hour, then £24.50 per ¼ hr.

  • Electrical: £70 first hour, then £17.50 per ¼ hr.

  • No VAT charged.

  • Agreed service-agreement rates may apply.

3. UniFi Systems – Supply & Installation

  • UniFi equipment (WiFi, CCTV, VOIP, door access, connectivity) is supplied/installed on a fixed-price basis as quoted.

  • Deposit of 50% payable on order. Balance on completion.

  • Equipment remains our property until paid in full.

  • Customer-supplied equipment installed at their risk.

4. System Handover & Support (UniFi)

  • We provide admin credentials, basic training, and demonstration on completion.

  • Our installation warranty covers 30 days for defects.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply (12–36 months).

  • Ongoing support, remote monitoring, or call-outs require a Service Agreement.

  • Customer is responsible for GDPR/data compliance.

5. Materials (General)

6. Payment

  • Maintenance: invoiced on completion (7 days net unless agreed).

  • UniFi installations: deposit + balance on completion (unless service agreement in place).

  • Late payments incur statutory interest + recovery costs.

7. Cancellations & Access

  • Less than 24hrs’ notice/no access = one-hour minimum charge (maintenance) or loss of deposit (UniFi install).

8. Guarantee

  • Maintenance works: 30-day workmanship guarantee.

  • UniFi equipment: manufacturer’s warranty applies.

9. Exclusions

  • Not liable for power/internet outages, user misconfiguration, or consequential losses (e.g. loss of business).

  • No gas/asbestos/high-risk works.

10. Insurance

  • Public liability insurance: £1 million.

11. Governing Law

  • Laws of England & Wales.
